Benson Family: My dad has been in the hospital for a week following a knee surgery. Today the social worker suggested Home Health services including a Nurse to help teach dad his new medications, a physical Therapist to exercise his leg and an Occupational Therapist to evaluate the home for safety. Is it appropriate for us as a family to choose the Home Health Company we like??
Dorothy RN: It is your legal right to choose the Home Health or Hospice Company you want to care for you or your loved one. Exercise your right to choose and select a reputable company with a good history in the community. Interview at least 2 and ask questions to find the right fit for the care you need.
